Concord or agreement
I am interested in the concord of collective nouns. Although my major publication so far is in Japanese, Note 15 of the following paper, written in English, describes my research on the concord of Panasonic, which can be either singular or plural. I investigated three tabloid newspapers, i.e. Daily Star (2001-2005), Daily Mail (1992-2005), and Daily Mirror (1995-2005), and six broadsheets, i.e. The Times (1990-2005), Daily Telegraph (2001-2005), The Guardian (1990-2005), The Independent (1900-2005), The Observer (1993-2005), and Scotsman (1993-2005), and discussed how concord differs between the two styles.
